On 21 November 2025, the Hotel Marriott Princesa Plaza Madrid will host a new edition of the "Breakfasts with La Sociedad Clave", a meeting space that fosters dialogue, reflection and collaboration between the professionals working on the frontier of truth: investigative journalists and private detectives. Under the title "The Investigation", this gathering will bring together some of the most prominent figures in journalism and private intelligence in Spain.

The session, which will begin at 9:00 AM (CET) with the official presentation, is conceived as an open conversation between those who seek the truth from different professional perspectives, but with a shared purpose: to serve society through rigorous investigation and verified information.
Among the confirmed participants are leading names from the national journalism scene. Beatriz Parera, a courts and investigative journalist at El Confidencial, will share her view on the ethical and legal challenges the media face when uncovering corruption schemes or highly sensitive judicial proceedings. Esteban Urreiztieta, deputy editor of El Mundo and a veteran of the most high-profile investigations in Spanish journalism, will reflect on the role of the journalist as a guarantor of the public interest in an era marked by immediacy and disinformation.
They will be joined by Daniel Montero, a journalist specialising in economic crime, procuring and terrorism, and José María Olmo, recognised for his work on international investigations such as the Panama Papers and the Falciani List. All of them will share experiences, dilemmas and methodologies on how to construct truthful accounts in environments of opacity, pressure and personal risk.
The panel will be moderated by two leading figures from the field of private intelligence: Francisco Marco, Doctor of Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, CEO of The Marco Company and one of the most influential voices in the corporate investigation sector, and Julio Gutiez, general manager of Mira Detectives and a specialist in corporate intelligence, who will bring his experience in strategic analysis and the ethical management of information.
The initiative, promoted by La Sociedad Clave, aims to build bridges between investigative journalism and private investigation, two disciplines that share a common DNA: the search for the truth and the defence of the public interest. In a context where information overload, digital manipulation and the loss of trust in institutions are growing challenges, gatherings of this kind help to restore the value of investigation as a tool for transparency and justice.
The event will be held in a breakfast-colloquium format, combining brief presentations, open dialogue and networking among professionals, investigators and members of the private detectives lobby. The meeting aims to establish itself as a stable forum for regular reflection in which journalists, jurists, criminologists and intelligence experts can share experiences, identify new synergies and foster a culture of collaboration between the public and private spheres.
At the end of the session, attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with the speakers and make connections in a relaxed setting that is nonetheless committed to excellence and professional ethics.
"Breakfasts with La Sociedad Clave: Journalists & Detectives – The Investigation" promises to be an enriching day, highlighting the essential role of those who devote their work to uncovering, analysing and narrating the facts that define our society.
